In Monday’s trading session in the local markets, the Top 40 closed the day up 0.36% and the Resources 10 sector went down by 0.91%, the Financial 15 went up by 0.11%, the Industrial 25 went down by 1.18% and lastly the South African Listed Property index was down 0.2%. The Rand traded at R17.03 against the Dollar, R20.57 against the Pound, and R17.77 against the Euro. The rand is trading at a major support level of R17 against the greenback.

On the commodities front, Brent Crude oil is trading at $85.58 a barrel and WTI Crude oil is trading at $78.67 a barrel. Gold is currently trading at $1753.65. Platinum is now trading at $1005.90 and lastly, Palladium is at $1878.50.
Across the globe, the S&P 500 closed the day down 1.54%, the Dow Jones closed the day down 1.45% and the Nasdaq had a 1.43% drop. The FTSE 100 was up 0.27%, the DAX was up 0.01% and the CAC40 was up 0.08%. In the Asian markets, the Nikkei 225 is currently down 0.48% and the Hang Seng is currently up 4.4%.
