Markets recovered their losses from yesterday and remain solid.
Stocks
- The S&P 500 Index jumped 0.1 percent as of 15:20 a.m. London time, ahead of Apple’s earning.
- The Stoxx Europe 600 Index soared 1.1 percent.
- The Nikkei-225 Stock Average jumped 0.1 percent.
- The MSCI Emerging Market Index also gained 0.3 percent.
Currencies
- The Dollar Spot Index didn’t move much ahead of the Fed meeting.
- The euro dropped slipped 0.1 percent to $1.142, despite a somewhat strong Spanish unemployment rate
- The Japanese yen dropped 0.1 percent to 109.42 per dollar, the risk off trade.
- The British pound jumped 0.1 percent to $1.3176, ahead of the Brexit vote in the parliament.
Bonds
- The yield on 10-year Treasuries dropped one basis point to 2.73 percent.
- Germany’s 10-year yield didn’t move much and remained at 0.20 percent.
- Britain’s 10-year yield was unchanged at 1.26 percent.
Commodities
- West Texas Intermediate crude soared 3.6 percent to $53.86 a barrel.
- Copper jumped 1.3 percent to $2.716 a pound.
- Gold soared 0.4 percent to $1,308.86 an ounce, maintaining its support at 1300
