In Tuesday’s trading session in the local markets, the Top40 closed the day down by 1.19%. The Resources 10 sector went down by 0.01%, the Financial 15 went up by 0.7%, the Industrial 25 went down by 2.6% and lastly the South African Listed Property index climbed by 0.66%. The Rand traded at R14.77 against the United State Dollar, R20.52 against the Great British Pound, and R17.48 against the Euro.
On the commodities front, the Brent Crude oil is trading at $74.82 a barrel and WTI Crude oil traded at $72.05 a barrel. Gold Spot price is currently trading at $1804.40 Platinum Spot is now trading at $1060.23 and lastly, Palladium Spot price is at $2628.50.
Across the globe, the S&P 500 closed the day up 0.24%, Dow Jones closed up 0.24% and the Nasdaq had a 0.09% climb. The FTSE 100 closed down by 0.42% and the DAX was down 0.64% and CAC40 was down 0.71%. In the Asian markets, the Nikkei 225 is down 1.39% and the Hang Seng is currently up by 0.91%.
Things to look out for today in the trading day, Facebook (FB), PayPal Holdings Inc. (PYPL), Pfizer (PFE), Shopify Inc. (SHOP), McDonald’s (MCD), Boeing (BA), Qualcomm (QCOM) and Starbucks (SBUX) is expected to release their results.
